A Brief History of Nature Writing, An Extensive Future of Nature Writing
We offer historical and research-based information about past writers who have been dedicated to Nature Writing along with a look at the trends that have happened in this genre throughout the last century. From there, we’ll look at how current day trends in this genre are affecting the questions we all have about Climate Change and look at how we can write to influence others in understanding that our writing (our voices) can save our lands. We are not only writing for cathartic and personal reasons (which is great), but we are also writing to see the change in the world. We do want writers to write with the intention of being published and influencing readers – and the world with their words.
The list of books written by established writers in this genre such as Aldo Leopold, Edward Abbey, Cheryl Strayed, John McPhee, John Krakauer, Terry Tempest Williams, Diane Ackerman and so many others are the base upon which future Nature writers emerge.
